convo: do you dare?

chuckle.

On a scale from one to ten how comfortable are you in wearing a bathing suit? GT has her days when I wouldn’t dare let the judge-y eyes of anyone come in between me and the Atlantic Ocean and then there are days when I’d rather not offend. There’s a ready to wear unrealistic ideal (see above) that most of us hope to live up to when it comes to bathing suits but for the most I’m honest enough (and its a relief) to admit that I’ll never be inside the pages Sports Illustrated most coveted issue. Body acceptance and body confidence is a craaaaaazy thing and there isn’t a woman alive who doesn’t zero in on her perceived flaws…exposing your arms legs, butt, back, front… can prove devastating for the ego. So a bathing suit…do you dare? *The perfect swimsuit.

Yes, but like Alicia said only if I’m swimming. Not to lounge around on the beach. Or walk to my car at a public parking garage, haha.

I grew up on an island – and though at times I felt fat and didn’t want to show my skin – it was just something we did regardless.

Everyone has their flaws, I’ve gotten to the age where I’m not worried about how someone is going to react to it. As long as I’m happy – it’s all good.

With that being said, I’m loving that chocolate suit on the woman with the afro. I’m needing to go look at a couple in preparation for my trip this summer!

Nothing reminds you more of what you put in your body than a woman who looks good in her bikini…

I wear them but only because I absolutely love swimming and being in the water. I’m not comfortable just walking around in them. If I’m out of the water for a bit, I’m wearing some kind if wrap or cover-up.

I love swimming and so swimsuits are a must but I need full coverage. None of the skimpy strings of fabric made for body ogling.

    Man those pics are fierce!

I’m a guy and I don’t even like wearing them. In today’s “Model Perfect Society”, I’d rather gnaw my own arm off then walk down a beach in a swim suit. I just feel like everyone, “Including the babies and dogs” are pointing and laughing at me. Perhaps, that’s something I should talk to my therapist about.

More power to you brawds that pull it off. Including you gramma. No matter how many stomachs she turns, she will pull out that swim suit in a NY minute. LOL

Yes, I do. There is a right bathing suit for everyone, you just have to be willing and patient to find it. I have 2 bathing suits, one that always looks great and another that’s daring.

I’m all about a one piece. I like to swim, but with the exception of a tankini here or there, I’ve always been a one piece sort of chick. Bikinis always looked like underwear to me, and I dont want everybody to see me in my drawls. LOLOL.

lol, the hubby and i constantly talk about how one would never walk outside in their undies yet if it’s called a bathing/swim suit/bikini, then no one thinks about it as the same thing…LMBO, anyhow, my answer as of now would be I dare not!..LOL
