recessions are great.
Whether we know it or not; we all have a calling. Some of us have known it from the womb like Tiger Wooo and some of us are the Colonel Sanders of the world; we don’t know we have some chicken to fry until we’re damn near one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. And the rest of us are in between…flicking the channels and seeing what’s on.
GT spent the better part of her twenties trying to figure out why I wasn’t born with that halo or magic flip switch on my back that the chosen ones seem to be born with. It’s like somebody stole my crayons. I figured I couldn’t carry a tune, rap, dance, act, run, model and had zero gall; so that canceled being a stone cold diva or screwing my way into a winning lottery ticket. So what else was there to do cept feel regla and eat a Hot Pocket?
That nagging sure is a blessing. It leads to your divine spark. And the divine spark is real and is the place where true happiness lies. The rub is that you have to get quiet, connect with it and trust it. It will require you to lay down your smoking guns. You know…those defense mechanisms that come in the form of foam on the brain, self-pity, using other peoples lives as a measuring stick for your own, minding other peoples business, wagging your judgmental index finger and the self-actualization that somewhere along the way you’ve been doing the running man to somebody else’s mixtape.
Recessions are great cause they force us into a mirrored corner filled with growth opportunities. You just have to trust that the world’s not going to end and that it most certainly will not run out of money.
Your thoughts?

My thoughts: great post, GT. I need to do some quieting down so I can figure out what the hell I’m doing. LOL.

Great post. Recessions do make you dig deeper because you can’t hide behind the fog of the pursuit of consumable stuff. You have to deal with your spiritual stuff.

Good morning to you! I just discovered your site and my goodness, what a find!
Great post and I must say that there’s no recession if you’ve been living according to your income. Times are hard for those living in houses that they knew from day one that they really couldn’t afford, driving cars with car notes as big as some people’s rents, etc.
There is no shortage of oil (people still drive cars, non?) and those oil countries are making money hand over fists, so where’s the lack? No, my Maker has always and will continue to provide for me, my family, and friends. This world is abundant, period. There is food for everyone. Why are people starving and some people living high off the hog? Greed, plain and simple.
